Spatial resolution: 0.1°

Pollutants: O3, CO, NO2, SO2, PM10, PM2.5, birch pollen, grass pollen, olive pollen,ragweed pollen, PANS, NMVOC, NH3, NO
Note: daily mean and max only available for O3, CO, NO2, SO2, PM10, PM2.5 and pollens
Levels: From surface up to 5000m
Domain: Europe (20°W/30°N/45°E/70°N)
Methodology: Ensemble model (so called CAMS regional Ensemble) is based on seven state-of-the-art numerical air quality models developed in Europe from all seven models.
They are combined via an ensemble approach, consisting in calculating the median value of the individual outputs.
Usually, better estimates of air pollutant concentrations are generated by CAMS regional Ensemble.

EURAD-IM from University of Cologne
LOTOS-EUROS from KNMI and TNO
MATCH from SMHI
MOCAGE from METEO-FRANCE
SILAM from FMI

→ EPSgrams are available for major European cities including European Capitals.
→ An EPSgram gives an evolution in time of an air quality prediction in a city.
It also gives an overview of the similarity between all partner predictions.
On the boxplot the median refers to concentration forecasts provided
by Ensemble Model.The range between min to max shows the spread
of results coming from partner predictions.
EPSgram basic interpretation:
→The extent of concentration gives a range of predictions issued by partner models. It can help to identify when air quality could exceed concentration threshold.
→The smaller the range in the boxplot is, the better the match to the partner outputs are. Consequently, the confidence in Ensemble outputs increases.
→The time evolution can help in detecting a lasting, polluting episode.
About European air quality DATA ACCESS:
Data issued by the Ensemble model and partner models are available for download after reading and accepting the CAMS data licence terms.
